In Japan, Nestlé has launched a limited-edition sake-flavoured KitKat, combining “chocolate with the mellow body and smooth aftertaste of sake”.
The KitKat has sake powder between the chocolate and wafer and the Japanese news site NariNari reported that the sweetness of the chocolate mixes well with the aftertaste of the sake. The label warns that these KitKats contain 0.8% alcohol.
A bottle shaped package containing nine mini Kit Kats is also available.
KitKat is manufactured by Hershey in the United States, but produced worldwide by Nestlé.
