Cold brew coffee specialist Nomi has launched London’s first boxed cold-brew coffee delivery service – a little bit like a winebox filled with cold brew coffee.
The boxes will be delivered direct to homes or offices nationwide and are available in weekly, bi-weekly or monthly delivery options.
“We’re really excited to launch this. It’s part discovery of new cold brew varieties and part wanting to change the way people enjoy coffee in their home or office: we thought it would be pretty neat to have cold brew on tap,” said Nomi founder Kieran Goodacre.
Nomi revealed that the idea for a boxed brew came out of time-keeping issues with making it at home. “It requires a lot prior planning and when you’re leading a busy lifestyle you often forget to put a brew on”. This led Goodacre to seek new ways to store larger amounts.
Nomi is hoping to further push on the nascent cold-brew coffee scene through innovative ways to reach out to fans.
July 2015 saw beverage start-up Nomi launching a range of 100% natural cold brew coffees, inspired by the Japanese ready-to-drink coffee market.
Nomi – which means drink in Japanese – is available in Tokyo black, Kyoto iced and Osaka almond varieties. Produced in a micro-brewery in Yorkshire, the premium bottled coffee is never heated, instead electing to cold brew the drink for 16 hours in order to ensure low acidity and a smooth flavour, meaning that each bottle of Nomi contains up to half the calories and a fifth of the amount of sugar as hot-brewed offerings.
The brand was inspired by the popularity of ready-to-drink coffee in Japan, which founder Kieran Goodacre noticed while working and living in Hokkaido.
