Ocado debuts new discount system
Ocado is slashing at least 10% off the price of many brands with its new Saving Pass and regular customers could save over £100 a year, the company claims.
The Saving Pass discount applies to over 500 leading brand products, including Pepsi, Pampers and Pantene. It is still given where any of those products are already sold under Ocado’s Tesco Price Match guarantee, generating a greater saving for customers.
This innovation in savings offers shoppers a completely original way to economise by assigning the nation’s favourite brands into popular groups, guaranteeing discounts on a whole host of household essentials and luxury treats throughout the year, the company said.
For a small annual fee, customers can subscribe to the Ocado Saving Pass for any of these groups, or to a Total Saving Pass for all of them.
The Saving Pass is currently available to ‘launch customers’ and will be gradually released to all customers over the coming months. Launch customers can subscribe to the Total Saving Pass annually for £8.99, with the individual yearly group passes ranging from £1.99-£5.99 each.
Ocado co-founder, Jason Gissin, said: “We’re proud to bring a whole new way of saving to our shoppers. Not only will the Ocado Saving Pass help lower the cost of a basket throughout the year, it will also offer great discounts in the run up to Christmas, a time when we are all trying to economise. We are really pleased to be helping our customers secure even greater value when shopping at Ocado in a time of economic uncertainty.”
