Organic baby food brand Piccolo has unveiled a new line-up of stage-two pouches, having already introduced a range of six new stage-one products last month.
Launching this October, the new products will be available in four nutritious recipes, all packed with healthy ingredients and infused with herbs and spices to allow babies to experience new flavours during the weaning process. There is spring vegetables and chicken with rice and tarragon; sweet tomato and ricotta spaghetti; three-grain vegetable risotto; and sweet potato and beef ragu. All are suitable for children aged seven months and up.
Piccolo, which launched in April this year, has “carved a niche in the baby food market by creating flavours unlike any other”, the brand said.
Piccolo founder Cat Gazzoli said: “It has certainly been a busy time at Casa Piccolo perfecting our new recipes. Indeed it’s been a bit of an adventure visiting our producers and farms to get just the right ingredients, but my family in France and Italy have been great helping the team and me find just what we wished for. The reaction we have had so far has been phenomenal, but we knew the high demand for stage-two blends had to be met!
“Like every Piccolo pouch, our new flavours have been thoughtfully prepared by our team of experts. Led by our in house infant nutritional therapist, the NPD team had a clear focus on great taste and unrivalled quality. We can’t wait to hear what the most important testers of all think!”
Piccolo is backed by investors including food campaigner Prue Leith, ex-Pizza Express CEO Mark Angela and ex-Duchy Originals CEO Andrew Baker.
It also commits 10% of its profits to food education projects.
