The new flavours include wild chocolate with aromatic fennel.
Organic chocolate brand Seed and Bean has released three new flavours for 2016 – its first new flavour launch for more than two years.
The new rich milk chocolate caffe mocha flavours is “smooth, creamy with a subtle hint of coffee” and is ideal as a pick-me-up; the dark aromatic fennel variant has a “sweet liquorice flavour” from the fennel, which pairs well with the smooth dark chocolate; and finally, the dark sweet orange and thyme bar combines citrus flavours with peppery thyme for “a delicious flavour blend that will strike a chord with all chocolate lovers”.
The brand’s chocolate is fully traceable from field to store and uses only Fairtrade chocolate.
The new additions join the brand’s existing range of flavours, including chilli and lime, mandarin and ginger, poppy seed, and hemp. They are stocked by retailers such as Selfridges, Waitrose, Planet Organic and Whole Foods Market.
Each bar is handmade in the UK in batches of 45 litres – significantly lower than the 10,000 litres at which most chocolate companies begin production, Seed and Bean said. They also feature only real and organic ingredients.
The recommended retail price for each of the new bars is £2.49.
