Swiss-based Orior, the maker of fresh meats and pasta, saw its first half revenue increase 17% from CHF 239.5 million ($250 million) in the first half of 2016, to CHF 281 million ($291 million).
The company also posted a profit increase of 22% to CHF 14.8 million ($15.3 million), helped by last year’s acquisition of Culinor Food Group, which expanded the company’s presence beyond its domestic market.
The company, whose brands include Rapelli, Ticinella and Pastinella, has announced that the acquisition of Culinor has led to new sales channels and innovations to deliver ‘faster than expected growth’.
However, the company posted troubles in its domestic market in Switzerland, with revenues dropping 3.8%, with postponed sales, market consolidation, delayed sales promotion campaigns, and intense competition weighing on revenues cited as contributing factors.
