Following on from FoodBev.com’s coverage of Pepsi White in October last year, it seems there’s a new colour on the block and it’s showing its green credentials.

Pepsi Green – only available in Thailand – is one of a portfolio of Pepsi ‘colours’, which includes the aforementioned White, as well as Pepsi Blue, Pepsi Gold and Pepsi Red.

The new beverage launched 15 January 2009 as part of the company’s ‘Pepsi I Can’ campaign, which is aimed at the Thai teen market. The campaign was responsible for driving an increase in soft drink sales during the first quarter of 2009, with Pepsi winning the ‘No 1 Growth Ranking in Scale Markets’ award from 7-Eleven – the distribution channel that has the greatest number of locations covering all of Thailand.

Pepsi Green is said to have “a gentle aroma”, though we’ve yet to find out exactly what flavour the new beverage is. The product was launched in light of survey results that say 93% of young Thais are concerned about environmental problems.

A Pepsi spokesperson said that the ‘Pepsi I Can’ campaign should boost sales of Pepsi by 35%.
