PepsiCo has appointed Hugh Johnston to the role of vice chairman, as part of a shake-up of its managerial team that will also see the promotion of three additional employees to senior positions.
Johnston will continue in his current role as chief financial officer, in addition assuming responsibility for PepsiCo’s global business and information solutions function, which provides information technology systems and solutions across PepsiCo.
The appointment has been announced as PepsiCo continues to preemptively address global trends – including the rise of digitally connected consumers and the emergence of e-commerce as a new distribution channel – that have the potential to reshape the food and beverage industry, the company said.
PepsiCo Lipton president Eugene Willemsen will also become PepsiCo’s executive vice president, global categories and franchise management; Brian Newman has been named executive vice president, global operations; and CEO, Latin America foods Laxman Narasimhan has become CEO, Latin America, and will become the head of an integrated food and beverage business in the region.
