Nutritious energy brand Perkier has launched a range of 100% plant-based whole food snack bars that it has said is the first of its kind in the UK market.
The unique bars are designed to appeal to the growing base of consumers seeking healthy on-the-go snacks made with the most nutritious and on-trend ingredients. The range of four new superfood Perkier bars incorporate all-natural, whole food ingredients such as quinoa, goji berries, sprouted grains and chia seeds. They provide nutritious slow-release energy, and are a natural source of fibre, protein and omega-3. They are also rich in antioxidants, as well as being gluten-, wheat- and dairy-free.
The range rolled out in 500 Asda stores nationwide this month with recommended retail prices of £0.75 per bar and from £1.80 per multipack. The launch will be supported by a high-impact marketing campaign designed to drive awareness and trial, including social media, public relations, events, press advertising and blogger outreach.
Perkier, which also produces a range of quinoa bars in three different flavours, had earlier secured listings with Sainsbury’s and Wholefoods Market in September.
Perkier co-founder Ann Perkins said: “We have researched and sourced every individual ingredient to carefully craft products that are genuinely innovative and naturally healthy. Our consumer research has shown these bars are ‘best in class’ when it comes to taste and health credentials, and appeal to the growing band of consumers who are seeking out products that contain exciting new ingredients and are natural, wholesome and provide nutritious energy.”
