PG Tips has launched a range of tea pods compatible with Nespresso coffee machines for the first time, allowing consumers to make PG tea with the push of a button.
Available from this week, the four-strong line-up includes a new variant from PG tips – black tea caramel and vanilla. The new flavour is an ideal Christmas drink and taps into the growing consumer appetite for new tastes and flavours within the category, the Unilever-owned brand said.
Green tea pods and caffeine-free options of peppermint, and raspberry and apple, make up the rest of the range. Available in packs of ten with a recommended retail price of £2.79 and packs of 24 for £9.99, the capsules are available online through Amazon and Ocado.
The choice of teas, PG Tips claimed, reflected the huge growth currently unfolding across the fruit, herbal and green tea sectors, while the capsules look set to give an added boost to the £105m capsuled beverage market.
PG Tips brand manager Lola Danlos said: “Our new range of machine-compatible capsules is a first for the UK market. The pods offer consumers a new and convenient format, with great tasting tea at the push of a button.”
