Nut butter brand Pip & Nut has secured a major new listing with British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s in a move that “will firmly establish the brand as a key player in the growing nut butter category”.
The brand’s existing three-strong range will be stocked in 473 Sainsbury’s stores UK-wide, joined by a new honey cinnamon cashew butter that is exclusive to the supermarket. The new flavour adds to its existing range of 250g jar-packed nut butters and will help Pip & Nut to “further capitalise on the growing popularity of nut butters”, it said.
The Sainsbury’s launch follows an impressive first year of trading in which the brand secured further listings with Marks & Spencer, Ocado and Fortnum & Mason.
Pip & Nut founder Pip Murray said: “The launch at Sainsbury’s is an exciting step for the brand and takes us one step closer to our aim of becoming a household favourite. We want to make people think differently about nut butter and expand it from being seen as an occasional spread to a protein source, nutrient-rich ingredient and on-the-go snack. With health higher than ever on the consumer agenda, our mission is to put the nut back into nutrition.”
Hannah Murphy, preserves buyer for Sainsbury’s, added: “We’re pleased customers will be able to buy the Pip & Nut range in our stores from November. We know our customers are looking for healthy yet delicious tasting spreads and with four delicious nut butter flavours to choose from, we’re confident they’ll be well received in our stores.”
