The FoodDrinkEurope Congress 2015 held in the welcome air conditioning of the EU Pavillion at Milan’s World Expo roasting in 35° of heat was hosted by director general Mella Frewen.
Here she gives her views on how we should be viewing Food in a more positive light – not as a threat to our wellbeing. The launch of the publication Balanced Diets and Healthy Lifestyles contains input from Food Federations and Companies across Europe and highlights welcome industry moves to reduce salt, sugar and trans fat content in manufactured foods; ranging from cheese, to jams and canned vegetables, sausages etc; as well as encouraging activity opportunities to address obesity issues.
