Nestlé Waters North America’s Poland Spring bottled water, from western Maine, has been honoured by Fortune Magazine as one of the ‘100 Great Things About America’ in its second annual Fourth of July ranking.
The distinction places the water among such other noteworthy Americana as the Ford F-150, The Great Gatsby and Times Square.
"What it's meant to be is a list of iconic things that are unique to America, made in America, or just something really great about this country," said Leigh Gallagher, assistant managing editor at Fortune Magazine.
The Poland Spring Water Company has bottled spring water from Maine since 1845 and employs nearly 800 full-time and seasonal workers across Maine.
