KP Snacks’ bear-shaped snack brand Pom-Bear has announced the introduction of a new cheese flavour to its product line.
The Pom-Bear cheesy variety will apply the same flavouring that had previously been used in the Pom-Bear Zoo Friends range, which featured potato chips in the shape of a number of common zoo animals including elephants, hippos and tortoises. Pom-Bear cheesy will join the existing cheese and onion, smoky bacon, prawn cocktail and original flavours in retailers nationwide from February.
The Pom-Bear brand is enjoying a period of sustained growth, and this latest product development builds upon the cross-generational appeal that cheese-flavoured snacks have, the company says.
Matt Collins, trading controller convenience for KP Snacks, said: “2014 was a fantastic year for the Pom-Bear brand, which is now worth over £27million in retail value sales. Our innovation team are constantly researching both UK and world-wide flavour trends to ensure our new launches are on-trend and genuinely appealing. Time and time again, cheese has come out as the most popular family flavour, so we can be confident this new variant will be a hit with both existing and new consumers alike.”
