Available in 25g impulse bags with a UK RSP of 85p for 25g and RSP £1.89 for 75g sharer bags, the range will be stocked in Tesco and Sainsbury’s as well as a national network of premium independent retailers.
Launched in 2012 by Jonty White, Neil Adams and Steve Wardlaw, Portlebay Popcorn is whole grain, high in fibre and there are fewer than 115 calories per 25g bag.
The sweet flavours were developed after the Portlebay Popcorn creators saw a gap in the sweet snack market.
“We’ve seen significant growth and increased volume sales in the sweet snack category over the last few years,” said Jonty White. “We’re gaining more listings for our impulse packs and our sharer bags remain popular.
“There are plenty of savoury or sweet snack options out there at the moment, but popcorn-wise we wanted to create something that was different from traditional toffee-covered popcorn or squidgy popcorn with crisp flavours. With our new sweet popcorn range, we wanted to create unique, authentic and natural flavours.”
