Procap has launched a new plastic closure for the edible oils, vinegars and sauces market that offers benefits to weight, cost and other metrics.
The 29/21 Green1P polyethylene terephthalate (PET) closure possesses an improved weight of just 1.2g and offers reductions to manufacturers on both cost and CO2 emissions, according to Procap.
It is supported by patented technology that increases the ease with which consumers can open the closure on both the first and later instances, and features a body and seal skirt design that contributes to leakage minimisation, comfort of use and tolerance. The lid also presents the opportunity for logos or other branding to be engraved onto the top of the closure, or for the colour to be matched to the filler’s preferences.
The introduction of the 29/21 Green1P closure follows a period of heavy investment, Procap says. The closure “allows manufacturers to offer real advantages to their own customers. Procap has patented a pioneering technology that moves the two tabs of the TE band up to the top of the closure during capping.
“Product safety is assured as the entire TE band must be removed on first opening, offering clear evidence of tampering.”
