Really Healthy Pasta will launch a new range of healthy, single-ingredient legume pastas aimed at the free-from market.
The new line-up – including black bean, mung bean, buckwheat, chickpea and red lentil variants, all available as penne and fusilli – will offer consumers in the UK a healthy and great-tasting alternative to traditional wheat-based pasta, the company said.
The products are high in nutrients and rich in fibre, as well as being free from chemicals, GMOs and grains, hypoallergenic, low-GI, and both organic and vegan. A typical serving provides a full portion of vegetables, half of the recommended daily amount (RDA) of iron, 25% of the RDA of protein and 46% of the RDA of fibre.
The pastas will be available in a 250g box with a recommended retail price of £2.99 – or in wholesale volumes for the foodservice and hospitality sector – and will officially be launched at Natural & Organic Products Europe in London next month.
Really Healthy Pasta marketing director Oliver Briggs said: “With the growing demand from consumers of all ages for healthier food swaps and clean eating, we are excited about our UK market launch and because they contain just one ingredient we believe our pastas are a unique offering in the UK marketplace today.”
