SABMiller acquires Rwenzori Bottled Water in Uganda

SABMiller Plc, a UK-​based producer and distributor of beer, malts and carbonated soft drinks, has acquired Uganda’s Rwenzori Bottled Water Ltd.

Rwenzori, based in Kampala and named after a mountain range that lies between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, has a 70% share of the Ugandan bottled water market. The company also sells water in the Congo and Tanzania.

SABMiller has also recently bought water operations in Ghana, Nigeria and Ethiopia.
