Gin brand Daffy’s has secured its first listing with British supermarket chain Waitrose, initially debuting in 234 of its UK stores from this month.
The new listing reinforces Daffy’s position as a speciality, high-end gin that delivers both in flavour as well as classic design. Each 70cl bottles is priced at £35.99.
Daffy’s master distiller and co-founder Chris Molyneaux said: “Since launching Daffy’s we’ve worked hard to secure the right listings in discerning independents and quality stores. Achieving a national supermarket listing with Waitrose was a key ambition for the brand and we’re thrilled to be working with the company.
“Despite sales growing by seven-fold over the last 12 months, our distillation methods, using the world’s best ingredients to produce small, single batches, will never change. It’s the smooth and complex flavour of Daffy’s that makes it unique, to be enjoyed in cocktails, or neat over ice, like a fine single malt whisky.
“2016 is set to be an incredibly exciting year for us and the culmination of many years of work to perfect Daffy’s offering. Waitrose will be the first time that many new customers are introduced to the product, and we cannot wait to hear their response.”
Waitrose spirits buyer Herchelle Perez-Terrado said: “We’re always on the look-out for drinks from producers who are clearly passionate about their brand, devoted to their craft, determined to use the finest ingredients and driven to make something that’s unique. Chris and [his wife and co-founder] Mignonne of Daffy’s typify that approach and we’re pleased to be able to bring their delicious gin to our customers across the UK.”
