A South Korean start-up has launched an innovative, portable coffee cup that combines all the elements of a coffee maker for the freshest possible coffee.
Cafflano’s new Klassic coffeemaker features a grinder, drip kettle, filter, dripper and tumbler in an “all-in-one” unit, which allows consumers to grind fresh coffee beans before applying hot water. The coffee then drips through a filter into a 255ml-capacity silicon cup. The entire mechanism is housed in a sleek polypropylene travel mug, allowing consumers to enjoy great coffee at a fraction of coffee shop prices.
Conceived by Hansang Yoon, it also seeks to increase the portability, convenience and eco-friendliness of coffee products.
Justin Ahn, Cafflano’s director for Europe, the Middle East and Asia, said: “Hansang Yoon was just an ordinary businessman who loved coffee, enjoying three or four cups a day. Although he was a coffee lover, he didn’t want to spend too much on an espresso machine nor capsule coffee machine that were too expensive and not handy. Purchasing and handling all the different components of a brewing kit was also too much hassle for him. Furthermore, spending $15–$20 a day at franchise coffee shops was just too much. So, he began to ideate a simple and affordable coffee maker that is portable, can be used anytime and is easy to use. That was the start of Cafflano Klassic.”
