Packaging technology manufacturer Starlinger has launched a new dynamic recycling line that can be operated both in-life and off-line.
The innovation, which it will exhibit at Chinaplas in Guangzhou later this month, can be automatically adjusted to the characteristics of the respective input materials, Starlinger said. For example, the recycled pellets can be reused at a share of up to 80% in film production without affecting the quality of the end-product.
Explaining the benefits of its new technology, the Vienna-headquartered company added: “By means of in-house recycling, fibre, nonwoven and film producers can reclaim valuable raw materials and reuse their production scrap at the same time.”
It will also exhibit its ViscoSheet polyethylene terephthalate (PET) line developed by Starlinger Viscotec, which produces PET sheet for food packaging with a guaranteed intrinsic viscosity out of up to 100% recycled PET. The end-product meets the standards for food contract packaging set by authorities such as the US Food and Drug Administration and European Food Safety Authority.
“The ViscoSheet line combines high production output with flexibility and energy efficiency and ensures 100% food safety,” Starlinger said.
