Artisan drinks producer Summerhouse Drinks has secured a new listing with British supermarket Waitrose.
Waitrose’s seven stores in Scotland are now selling three popular flavours from the family-owned soft drinks company including its misty lemonade, hint o’ mint and lavender lemonade variants.
The range of lemonades, which are currently stocked in farm shops, delis and farmers markets around the country, are produced in small batches in production facilities on the family farm in Fraserburgh. All products are 100% natural and come packaged in a 750ml glass bottle.
Summerhouse Drinks managing director Claire Rennie said: “We are very excited about the opportunity to supply Waitrose with our all-natural lemonades and will be very proud to see our Summerhouse Drinks bottles sitting on their shelves.
“It has always been a dream of ours to sell our products in Waitrose stores and consider this a huge move for the company, both in terms of distribution and helping to raise our profile. We are pleased to be a part of the team and think our sophisticated soft drinks, which are free from artificial preservatives, colours or flavours, suit the Waitrose customer perfectly.”
Waitrose local and regional buyer Tracey Marshall said: “These naturally flavoursome lemonades are the sort of innovative product that we enjoy bringing to a wider audience in Scotland – family owned, produced with care and completely natural.”
All seven Waitrose stores in Scotland will stock the range of lemonades with a retail price of £3.99.
