A natural energy drink that claims to be the UK’s “first low-calorie” product of its kind has been launched by British beverage producer JMS Drinks.
Sunsoul contains no artificial vitamins, taurine or refined sugars and delivers only 84 calories per can. The new line is available in three different flavour combinations: kaffir lime and lemon, raspberry and elderflower, and spiced mango and pineapple.
Each flavour contains the same botanical blend, chosen to give consumers the steadiest energy release while remaining within the low-calorie category. Guarana, kola nut and baobab will also give consumers the energy they need without the sugar crash.
Jonnie Shearer, founder and CEO of JMS Drinks, said: “We’ve always delivered 100% natural products, that’s at the heart of our vision. With Sunsoul, we decided to take it a step further by getting the lowest levels of both sugar and calories while keeping the drink 100% natural; and of course to get the best tasting energy drink on the market!”
The brand will concentrate on female health-conscious consumers in particular, focussing on delivering natural and enjoyable energy. According to a recent Nielsen report, busy mothers are now competing against teenage males as the largest consumers of energy drinks – but the demographic continues to be undersupplied by energy drink brands.
To celebrate the launch of their product, JMS Drinks will be supporting every new stockist with point-of-sale materials that reflect the premium credentials of Sunsoul. Each can of Sunsoul natural energy drink has a recommended retail price of £1.29.
