Suntory to integrate beverage operations in 2011
Suntory Holdings Ltd has announced that it will integrate its beverage business operations in Japan and foreign countries on 1 January 2011, by putting overseas units under the umbrella of Tokyo-based Suntory Foods Ltd, which is to be renamed Suntory Beverage & Food Ltd.
The overseas units include the Orangina Schweppes Group in France and the Frucor Group in New Zealand and Australia.
Suntory Holdings managing executive officer Nobuhiro Torii will be appointed president of Suntory Beverage & Food, which is expected to have global sales worth some 1 trillion yen.
Suntory Holdings also said its Chinese business groups in Japan will be transferred to Suntory (China) Holding Co in Shanghai.
