Snack bar brand Ollybars has launched a new banana brunch bar, which combines sour cherries, walnuts and pumpkin seeds with potassium-packed banana to create a snack bar that tastes good naturally.
The superfood snack also contains chia, sunflower and flax seeds – and has lowered the amount of natural fruit sugars by 40%, replacing them with protein by using vegan-friendly pea crunchies. The line will be stocked in Wholefoods, Sourced Market and locations across both the UK and European Union.
The product joins London-based Ollybars’ existing all-day breakfast bar, which brings together dates, raisins, peanuts, brazil nuts, almonds, dried raspberries, cocoa butter and apricots. It also includes chia, flax, pumpkin and sesame seeds, as well as gluten-free oats and an extract of apple, carob and grape – all in a handy 60g bar.
Each all-day breakfast bar delivers 6g of protein and 8.3g of fibre – as well as around 250 calories – and is 100% natural with zero additives.
The hand-crafted brand was founded by Olly Ashton with the aim of making great tasting energy bars, combining natural and raw ingredients with gluten-free oats, whole nuts and chia seeds – all bound together with fruit. Dehydrated at low temperatures to retain the original nutrition, slow release energy and 30% less GI, the bars are described as an ideal “superfood snack, bursting with flavour”.
