SVZ International has announced “a significant investment” in its purée concentrate production line at its plant in central Poland.
The undisclosed investment will help the company to boost ingredient quality, improve environmental credentials and add new vegetable processing capability. The line, SVZ said, features evaporation technology capable of processing raw materials at exceptionally low temperatures, to deliver minimally processed vegetable and fruit purée concentrates that are as nutritionally close as possible to their fresh form.
The line is on site at the producer’s facility in Tomaszów, 45km southeast of Łódź, in a major growing region for the company. The plant’s low energy performance, together with zero raw material transportation requirements, boosts SVZ’s environmental profile, the firm said.
Growing conditions in Tomaszów are said to be “among the best in the world, combining rich soil, an ideal growing climate and a long local heritage in fruit and vegetable farming”.
Marius Janssen, senior process developer for SVZ, said: “As vegetables gain strong momentum in food and beverage categories across the world, we have made this investment to meet soaring customer demand for mildly processed vegetable ingredients, particularly green vegetables. At SVZ, we work continually to improve our product quality and range for our customers, as well as deliver strong environmental performance. Improving and expanding the purée concentrate production plant meets our goal of increasing our vegetable product range, offering nature-identical ingredients and meeting energy targets.”
