The UK’s first matcha green tea range blended specifically for active consumers with busy lives has landed in the fitness and health retail market.
The T-tox blended matcha range is available in three different varieties to cater to the specific needs of the fitness and wellness industry, each one designed to be consumed at a different time of day.
Matcha energise prepares consumers for physical activity by blending Japanese matcha green tea powder with ginger, guarana, ginseng and gingko biloba. Matcha recovery improves recovery after exercise, and contains matcha green tea powder, peppermint, nettle, milk thistle, spirulina and lavender. And matcha health is blended for overall performance improvement, and features matcha green tea powder and moringa powder.
All three powder blends have a recommended retail price of £25 for a 40g tin.
“Many athletes and fitness enthusiasts take in coffee before a workout due to the documented improvements to performance, yet so many people I work with noticed the ‘jittery’ side effects,” explained T-tox founder and managing director Johnny Harris. “The product range we have created offers a slow-release ‘focused alertness’ and the associated improvements to performance without negatively affecting sleep. The teas come in a quality convenient tin, which keeps the contents fresh for months, perfect to keep at work or at home or in your gym bag with a T-tox glass shaker, also available for retail. You take the matcha energise before a workout and the matcha recovery post-workout, and matcha health is for everyday drinking.
“We have already received interest from health food shops, health club shops, leisure centres and some luxury shops.”
The teas are available to the retail market in clearly identifiable brushed steel tins, which premiumise the matcha inside and provide enduring freshness. The UK-wide launch will be supported by a comprehensive PR and marketing plan, notable brand ambassadors from the fitness and nutrition industries, a number of media and consumer launch events and a multi-platform website.
