Tesco recalls own Free From muesli and porridge
Tesco is recalling certain date codes of its Free From Pure Oat Fruit Muesli and Free From Pure Porridge Oats. The product may contain low levels of gluten, which is not declared on the pack.
If you are allergic or sensitive to wheat or gluten you are advised not to eat this product, the FSA has warned.
The products being withdrawn are:
- Tesco Free From Pure Oat Fruit Muesli, 450g
- Best before: 20 May 2012, 22 May 2012, 18 June 2012, 19 June 2012
- Tesco Free From Pure Porridge Oats, 450g
- Best before: 22 July 2012, 25 July 2012, 17 August 2012, 18 August 2012, 8 September 2012.
Tesco has withdrawn all affected stock and recalled it from customers with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten. Customer notices have been displayed in stores, alerting customers to the reasons for the withdrawal. If you have purchased the product you can return it to the store for a full refund.
In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members of the recall.
No other Tesco products are known to be affected.
