Tetra Pak and Engro to establish dairy hub in Pakistan

Tetra Pak and Engro Foods have announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly establish a dairy hub pilot project to promote milk production through smallholder capacity building across Pakistan.

The intention it to establish a dairy development project to improve the quality, quantity and market access of milk by creating an efficient value chain to enhance smallholder competitiveness.

Tetra Pak Pakistan managing director, Azhar Ali Syed, said: “The objective is to increase productivity of milk in rural areas and be able to measure the improved productivity of animals. The key element of the dairy hub project is to ensure good quality of milk besides getting higher quantity of milk and ensuring that farmers are educated and well trained.”
