Food Waste has been a trending topic throughout this year, with many companies taking to social media to discuss the issue and its solution. In September, The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations released statistics which revealed that every year around the world; 1.3bn tonnes of food is lost or wasted. That’s one third of all food produced for human consumption. These statistics powered an ever growing debate and fuelled several twitter trending topics including #WorldFoodDay, #EUStopFoodWaste and #FutureofFood.
