Energy drinks and shots jumped 18% to $8.0bn, while water rose 4% to $7.2bn.
Sports drinks were up 7% to $4.1bn, chilled juice static at $2.7bn, iced tea up 4% to $2.5bn and fruit drinks up 4% to $1.5bn.
Carbonated soft drinks are still king at $18.3bn, but their crown has slipped a little. The carbonates figure from Nielsen includes Walmart, whereas the other figures from Symphony IRI do not.
