Waitrose recalls own-brand meat products
Waitrose is recalling packs of its own-brand Cook’s Ingredients Pulled Ham Hock and one pack of its own brand Essential Corned Beef in the UK, because there is a possible risk of microbiological contamination.
The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice, as routine testing has detected the presence of listeria in these products. Listeria is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning.
The products being recalled are:
- Waitrose Cook’s Ingredients Pulled Ham Hock, 180g (use by 27, 29 and 31 August 2011).
- Waitrose Essential Corned Beef, 140g (use by 2 September 2011).
Waitrose is recalling the affected products from consumers and stockists. The Essential Corned Beef product is also sold at Boots.
