Weetabix is introducing two variants with fruit pieces as it targets consumers seeking a healthier breakfast.
Called Weetabix Additions, the recipe combinations are apple and raisin, and coconut and raisin. Both will be rolled out to the convenience channel, having already been introduced to grocery stores earlier in the year.
Weetabix head of brand Kevin Verbruggen said of the launch: “We’re excited to bring Weetabix Additions to convenience stores. Many people add fruit to their breakfast cereal, for added taste and health – though they often don’t have the time. We’re making it more convenient for shoppers to make a positive choice each morning.”
He continued: “Whilst Weetabix Original is a must-stock item for many retailers, displaying Weetabix Additions can add excitement and growth to the category.”
The new varieties are available in the UK with a recommended retail price of £2.99 for 24 biscuits and £1.79 for 12 biscuits.
