Halo Foods, owned by Finland-based food group Raisio, was formed more than 25 years ago and is a major producer of healthier bars and snacks.
The new contract sees Wincanton take responsibility for providing national transport services to all three of Halo’s operational manufacturing sites, distributing around 1,700 pallets a week to retailers and wholesalers around the country.
Richard Pimbley, Halo’s head of logistics, said the company had taken the decision to invite Wincanton to tender based on its reputation for service, operational excellence and innovation in its supply chains.
“In an ever more competitive market, we were looking for a logistics provider who could offer, above all, excellent service but underpinned by a spirit of partnership,” he said. “While talking with the team at Wincanton, their passion for both service delivery and collaboration was very apparent.”
