Wiseman confirms farm gate milk price increase

Robert Wiseman Dairies is to increase the price it offers dairy farmers following a strengthening in returns from the bulk cream market. The company has confirmed an increase of 0.3ppl to 24.32ppl from 1 August guaranteed for two months.

Pete Nicholson, Wiseman’s milk procurement director, said: “We would stress that commodity markets remain fragile and it’s certainly too early to call an end to the recent period of volatility. But we’ve seen stronger returns from bulk cream in the last quarter which we are reflecting in a higher milk price to farmers.”

Wiseman’s farm gate milk price from October will be confirmed in late September once the company has reviewed the latest bulk cream returns and the positioning of its milk price in comparison to competitors.
