Yorkshire-based Wold Top Brewery has secured a new listing with supermarket chain Tesco for its Wold Gold brand of blonde beer.
Wold Gold is a 4.8% ABV beer made using Wolds-grown barley, wheat and Cara malt with Goldings and Styrian hop varieties that give the beer a “soft, fruity flavour with a hint of spice”. Packaged in 500ml bottles, the blonde beer retails for £1.97.
The development marks an extension to the range of stockists for Wold Gold, which is currently listed in 44 stores. Based in Wold Newton near Scarborough, Wold Top Brewery currently operates a portfolio of 17 beers, including Marmalade porter, Scarborough Fair IPA and a selection of ales.
The brewery is part of the Higher Level Stewardship scheme for environmental initiatives and is also working closely with the RSPB to promote birdlife.
Wold Top Brewery owner Tom Mellor said: “We’re delighted that one of our best-selling beers is now available in Tesco and is selling very well.”
