36 acquisitions in August 2010

August was another big month for transactions, with 36 recorded around the world. I’ve also picked up three more from July.
11 of August’s 36 were in alcohol, nine in dairy, seven in soft drinks and four in other food. 18 were single country deals – seven in the US, four in the UK and two in Japan.
Of the 18 international transfers involving 24 countries, Switzerland was the most acquisitive with four (two by Nestlé and two by Emmi), and the US made the most sales at five.
The only sale over $1bn was in vending.
