The just-​published ‘American Beverage Association 2011 Review’ contains some big numbers for the US non-​alcoholic beverage industry.

  • $118.9bn direct economic impact
  • 227,000 jobs
  • $37.1bn overall tax contribution
  • $872m charity contribution
  • 88% fewer beverage calories in schools since 2004
  • 21% fewer beverage calories overall from 1998 to 2008.
