The Natural Hydration Council is delighted to announce its first conference which will take place in London on 28th October 2015. The event will explore the theme of ‘Hydration for Life: Can we do more?’ and promises to inspire and expose delegates to new thinking.

Keynote speaker Drew Nannis from the Partnership for a Healthier America will share insights and highlights of the Drink Up campaign in the US. This campaign was launched by Michelle Obama and promotes drinking water (tap and bottled). In just 18 months, the campaign resulted in a 3% increase in water consumption among target groups and an 11% category shift from sugary drinks to water.

Other confirmed speakers so far include:

  • Tony Juniper sustainability advisor and leading British environmentalist who promises a thought-provoking and inspiring presentation on water and the environment.
  • Giles Quick, Director, Kantar Worldpanel who will provide new market insights on of the evolving role of bottled water among British consumers.
  • Kinvara Carey, General Manager, Natural Hydration Council will discuss what the bottled water category is currently doing to promote healthy hydration and James Pearson, Managing Director of Danone Waters will offer his insights into what more can be done.
  • The Future Laboratory who will present on trend forecasting, strategic thinking and thought-leadership.

There will be interesting and lively panel discussions, exploring hydration, health and well-being chaired by Tam Fry, National Obesity Forum with panellists:

  • Dr Emma Derbyshire, Founder of Nutritional Insight
  • Dr Rekha Elaswarapu, Dignity Adviser; Associate, The Good Governance Institute; Associate Fellow, ILC-UK; and Vice Chair Age UK Ealing
  • Professor Paul Gately, professor of Exercise and Obesity at Leeds Beckett University
  • Professor Tom Sanders, emeritus professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at King’s College London

The aim of the Sustainable Foods Summit is to explore new horizons for eco-labels and sustainability in the food industry by discussing key industry issues. How do organic, Fairtrade and other eco-labeling schemes further sustainability? With growing proliferation in labels, what are the prospects for a single sustainability standard for food products? What are the practical application of sustainability metrics? What advances are occurring in sustainable ingredients? What developments are happening in formulation, production and marketing of sustainable food and beverages? Such questions are regularly addressed at this international series of summits.

Since 2009, the Sustainable Foods Summit has been covering major developments in the food industry concerning sustainability and and eco-labels, such as organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance. In 2017, the European edition will be hosted in Amsterdam on 1-2nd June, the Latin American edition will be hosted in São Paulo on 18-19th September, whilst the first Asia-Pacific edition will be hosted in Singapore on 29-30th November. The next North American edition will take place in San Francisco in January 2018. Each edition will bring together some of the most influential organisations involved in sustainability and eco-labels in the food industry.

“Who needs your milk?” This global event will be held under this motto. Representatives of manufacturing companies, milk processors, farmers, officials, representatives of ministries and leading experts will gather to discuss topical issues in the world of the dairy market. A total of about 400 delegates from more than 20 countries are expected to attend.

During the business programme, such topics as new solutions in the use of whey will be discussed at the International Cheese Forum. This report will be made by Julia Chistova, CEO of France Group. There will also be a discussion on the development of Russian-Vietnamese trade relations in the dairy industry, which will be spoken about in the framework of the VI Summer Dairy Summit by Ngo Minh Hai, a representative of the corporate board of TH, director of the company Dalatmilk. And this is only part of a very busy business programme of the Dairy Olympics.
