The 3M Petrifilm Rapid Yeast and Mould Count Plate is faster than conventional agar testing methods, which require a five to seven day incubation period, and can be used for beverage and food testing, as well as air, swab and surface contact environmental testing.
“Yeast and mould indicator testing is extremely important for determining product freshness and quality, but the current testing process is so long that it can hold up a product’s release for several days,” said 3M Food Safety vice president and general manager Mojdeh Poul. “With the 3M Petrifilm Rapid Yeast and Mould Count Plate, we are changing all of that.”
