4505 Chicharrones has unveiled plans to roll out two new flavours of its artisan pork rinds, as well as new-look packaging that will be available on retail shelves across the US this September.
The “unexpected” duo of flavours includes smokehouse barbecue and jalapeño cheddar, and will join the brand’s existing flavour – classic chili and salt. In addition, a “bold” new packaging design will feature updated artwork on eye-catching metallic packaging.
4505 Chicharrones are crafted by trained chef and butcher Ryan Farr, made with high-quality ingredients and fine cuts of humanely sourced pork rinds with no added antibiotics or hormones. Committed to sustainability and whole animal utilisation, each “chicharron” is kettle-cooked in lard to minimise waste seen across the meat industry.
The new snacks – once a gas station favourite – are gluten-free and contain 7g of protein, zero carbohydrates and 80 calories per ½oz serving.
“I started making the chicharrones in my kitchen seven years ago as a result of feeling bad about all the waste in traditional butchery and sold them at my neighborhood bars,” said Farr, founder and CEO of 4505 Chicharrones. “We’ve come a long way but have stayed committed to creating a delicious and sustainable snack. 4505 Chicharrones brings a superior culinary standard to an up-and-coming category and we look forward to providing the industry with a new salty snack food that is actually good for you.”
4505 Chicharrones will be available in select stores across the US for a suggested retail price of $3.99, packed in 1oz bags.
