Coffee roaster 918 Coffee Co. has launched a range of eco-roasted coffees under the brand name Flaming Dorset.
In addition to eco-roasting the range, the company has packaged the coffee in fully biodegradable packs, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the drink. The six coffees are Rainforest Alliance-certified and the company also offers a Fairtrade Coffee.
Consumers can choose from after dinner blend, all day, aromatic, smooth or rich blends as well as a decaf blend. The Flaming Dorset Eco-Roasted range will be available from farm shops, cafés and coffee shops and local supermarkets in the South West of England throughout the remainder of 2015 and into 2016.
918 Coffee co-owner Justin Cornelius said: “The Flaming Dorset range is our own retail range and we are delighted to announce that the entire range is the first to be eco-roasted. Using our new pioneering technology and processes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a zero waste, low carbon roasting process resulting in a much reduced carbon footprint for the coffee.”
Chanel Cornelius continued: “This means coffee lovers can still enjoy the delicious Flaming Dorset range and can now also take pleasure in the knowledge that their coffee waste, produced to make their drink, will be used in a positive way to fuel an energy efficient green coffee roasting plant, roasting their next cup.”
