Functional ingredients and fats supplier AAK has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Food Specialities Limited (FSL), which will expand AAK’s presence in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.
United Arab Emirates-based FSL is one of the leading distributors of food and beverage products to countries in the GCC such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar; and the agreement will allow AAK to utilise FSL’s extensive distribution network in the region.
AAK claims that FSL’s complementary ingredients portfolio and its expertise in the manufacturing, retail, and hospitality industries will allow AAK to strengthen its position in the region.
AAK’s team in Turkey and the Middle East, will continue to lead the company’s sales operations from its sites in Istanbul and Dubai.
Torben Friis Lange, President Asia. “FSL’s complementary portfolio of ingredients and solutions will yield great synergies with our unique and global co-development approach, creating value in every step of the production.
“Thanks to this new cooperation, our innovative and customized solutions will make their way to our customers via FSL’s wide distribution network in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries.”
The agreement comes a week after AAK announced that it would attempt to fuel growth in Asia by investing in a new customisation plant in the Philippines.
