The new TianNing farm is equipped with Afimilk’s milking and herd management systems and is designed to house 6,000 cows and 4,000 heifers.
More than 3,000 cows are in milk, and daily average production is 30kg of milk per cow. Yearly milk production is projected at over 9,400 litres per cow.
AfiFarm software at the site provides an array of information required for effective herd management, including heat detection and health monitoring, and TianNing’s managers have attended an advanced dairy farming course in Israel organised by Afimilk.
The course focused on the effective use of AfiFarm software and featured advice on subjects such as milking practices, nutrition and fertility.
Mr Feirui, general manager of the TianNing Company, said: “The new dairy farm in China is rising rapidly with the help of Afimilk’s system and the company’s professional support.”
As a result of the new dairy’s success, the project’s underwriter – Chongqing (TianNing) Agriculture Investment Co – is seeking to replicate this project in other Chinese provinces.
