Canadian dairy cooperative Agropur’s iögo brand has created what it claims are the world’s first crunchy yogurt bites.
The high-protein snacks are made using a technological process which can produce yogurt-based products through vacuum microwave dehydration.
Over the next few weeks, iögo’s range of crunchy yogurt bites will be released exclusively in Quebec and Alberta at Couche-Tard and Circle K stores as part of a trial period, and will be sold in 35g packets.
Four flavours will be available in the range: Sour cream and green onion, cheddar, salted caramel and applewood smoked BBQ.
Michael Aucoin, president, Canada operations said: “iögo crunchy bites contain everything these influential consumers are looking for: a dairy product with 10g of protein per portion that can be eaten on the go like chips.”
Martin Parent, general manager, yogurt at Agropur added: “Agropur is the first company to use this process to dehydrate yogurt while preserving its benefits. There are no similar products on the market, here or anywhere else.
“Reinventing the dairy experience is one of our organization’s priorities. We had an idea and we needed a unique technology to transform it into an opportunity.”
