It had to happen, I suppose. We’ve long since seen alcohol-free beers and wines, and now a company has launched an alcohol-free whisky in the US.
Reportedly the world’s first, ArKay is also calorie-free, carb-free, fat-free and sugar-free, but not taste-free. It’s said to have ‘the appearance, taste and aroma of traditional malt whisky’. It can even be served on the rocks.
In contrast to other alcohol-free drinks, instead of having the alcohol taken out, there is no fermentation or maturation and no alcohol enters the production process.
Whatever next? Vodka-free vodka?
