Alpro has extended its offering for the plant-based category with the introduction of a blended coconut and almond drink.
The new product has been added to the brand’s product line-up this month with a recommended retail price of £1.79. Containing just 24 calories in every 100ml and providing a good source of calcium and vitamins B12, D and E, Alpro coconut and almond “delivers a refreshing flavour of coconut combined with a subtle taste of almond that can be enjoyed with cereal, on its own or as a tasty base for smoothies,” the brand said.
The move will capitalise on growing consumer demand for coconut and almond products in the UK, with the almond and coconut drink sectors now generating sales of £37m and £10.2m respectively each year.
Alpro UK marketing controller Vicky Upton said: “We know that variety is important to consumers, so by introducing more great tasting products like this under the Alpro brand, we’re clearly increasing consumer choice.”
