Alpro has launched Go On, a range of single-serve soya yogurt alternatives that are high in plant protein with a thick, smooth texture sitting on top a layer of real fruit.
The launch marks a significant move for the brand into the high-protein sector in a single serve format. The products are available in three different fruit varieties – passionfruit, blackcurrant and mango – and each 150g pot has a recommended retail price of £0.85.
Designed to be eaten on its own or over fruits and cereals, Go On delivers 84 calories, 5.2g of soya protein and less than 0.5g of saturated fat per pot. It offers a healthy plant-based option within the broader yogurts category, the brand said.
The launch follows a successful year for Alpro, which saw the brand extend its soya alternative to yogurt big pot portfolio with the introduction of new plain, coconut and almond versions. It is being backed by an integrated marketing campaign which includes TV advertising, a media and blogger outreach programme, plus social media engagement.
Alpro UK & Ireland marketing controller Vicky Upton said: “Last year we established a strong position for our big pot plain range with a high-profile marketing campaign and two new additions designed to inspire and extend consumer usage. This has paid off with sales +61% in value. We will continue to build on this success with innovative, quick-to-market, ground-breaking products like Go On.
“We know there is consumer demand for more plant-based options, particularly convenient products that fit in with their hectic lifestyles and keep them going for longer. That’s why we’ve created Go On – it’s the perfect healthy ‘pick me up’. A thick, smooth soya alternative to yogurt with a natural fruit base and lovely refreshing taste… it is low in saturated fat and high in plant-protein – the perfect snack for any time of the day.”
