Ardagh Group North America will invest in its Valparaiso beverage can production plant in Indiana, to increase production of ‘eye-catching’ beverage can ends and tabs at the facility.
The 135,000 square-foot plant produces the end or “top” of beverage cans as well as the tab, which consumers pull to open the can, and Ardagh say that this investment will aim to address the increased demand for innovative, eye-catching beverage can packaging.
Many leading beverage companies are now choosing to utilise colourful graphics for ends and tabs, complimenting the full surface space of the can body used to showcase their brand. Ardagh says that the upgraded facility will allow the company to further serve its leading beverage can customers by providing attractive and highly-differentiated packaging.
Total production at the site will increase by approximately 10%, and the new production will be available in the third quarter of 2019.
Claude Marbach, CEO of Ardagh Metal – North America, said: “We’re very proud to increase Valparaiso’s production capabilities, further positioning the plant as a world-class source of innovative, eye-catching tabs and ends.
“We are providing leading beverage organisations the best in brand-building packaging, enabling differentiation on retail shelves with the inherent environmental benefits of aluminium cans.”
