Markus Mühleisen is the new head of Arla Food’s German and Austrian operations
Arla Foods has appointed Markus Mühleisen as the new head of its German and Austrian operations.
Mühleisen will assume his position as managing director and group vice-president Germany from 1 March 2018 and will report to Peter Giørtz-Carlsen, executive vice-president and head of Europe at Arla Foods.
Mühleisen will succeed Winfried Meier, who will be leaving his position at the end of April 2018. Meier will support Mühleisen during the transition period to ensure the company’s operations continue smoothly.
Mühleisen previously held the position of managing director for Northern Europe for General Mills, and he has also operated as in several management positions over an 11-year period at the company.
Before joining General Mills, Mühleisen also spent eight years working in management positions at Nestlé Cereals in Europe and Asia.
Commenting on the appointment, Giørtz-Carlsen said: “With Markus Mühleisen, we will get a seasoned Managing Director onboard, who has led big food brands and teams to success both in Germany and internationally.
